MBA Students Excel on Advanced Placement Exams
Everything we do at Monterey Bay Academy rests on one profound and transformative mission: to introduce our students to a Love so compelling that they spend the rest of their lives pursuing its Source. This mission weaves through every classroom discussion, every moment of student-teacher interaction, and every achievement we celebrate. Our core values of Love for Jesus, Love for Humanity, Love for Learning, and Love for God's Creation serve as the guiding lights that illuminate every path our students take on their educational journey.
At the end of each academic year students take a number of different types of exams. While all of our students wrap up the school year with finals in each of their classes, some also choose to take additional exams in Advanced Placement (AP) courses they have enrolled in here at MBA. Three years ago, MBA offered only one AP course, but now students can choose from six courses offered in a variety of disciplines. In addition, students can take the AP exam in other subjects beyond the courses offered in the classroom at MBA.
This year students took AP exams in a total of eight subjects, six of which are taught at MBA. We are proud of our students’ success on this year’s exams with a 75% pass rate, exceeding the AP average of 70%. In four subjects our students achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate.
At MBA our staff, teachers, and administrators are all working together to create an environment where every student can pursue their dreams and realize their full potential according to the plan God has for their lives. As we look to the new school year we see our mission coming full circle: each academic achievement, every moment of growth, and all the support we provide our students serves to introduce them to that compelling Love that will guide them long after they leave our halls. Through individual mentorship and community support, we are fulfilling our deepest calling—to nurture young hearts and minds that will spend their lives pursuing the Source of all true learning, all genuine love, and all lasting purpose. Beyond that, our students will carry with them not just knowledge and skills, but the transformative love of a living Savior.
